Engine Oil – Sci-Fi Ad

Project Objective

The objective of this ad was to promote a standard engine oil brand through a highly creative sci-fi narrative, demonstrating the product’s superior performance in an engaging, cinematic way. The ad needed to blend futuristic elements, storytelling, and product features while appealing to audiences with visually stunning CGI and animation. The concept was to transform a simple engine into a high-performance superbike, symbolizing the oil’s impact.

Process

1. Concept & Ideation

• The client provided minimal references, leaving room for creative exploration.

• I conceptualized a sci-fi storyline:

  • Earth with a futuristic cityscape.

  • A spaceship observes a normal bike engine encountering errors.

  • AI system requests engine oil delivery from a massive spaceship.

  • A smaller shuttle delivers the premium engine oil, highlighting product benefits.

• The story balances science fiction spectacle with clear product messaging, ensuring the brand features remain central.

2. Modeling & CGI Creation

• 3D Modeling: Created the engine, superbike, spaceships, planets, and environment in detailed CGI.

• Texturing & Materials: Applied realistic metal, oil, and environmental textures to ensure photorealism.

• Animation:

  • Engine oil flowing through the engine, visually showing transformation.

  • Engine transforming into a superbike in a transformers-style animation.

  • Spaceships flying dynamically, following cinematic camera movements.

3. Visual Effects & Simulation

• Simulated oil flow realistically inside the engine, enhancing product emphasis.

• Integrated dynamic lighting and reflections to match sci-fi environment and metallic surfaces.

4. Audio & Post-Production

• Narration & Music: High-quality audio narration explaining engine oil benefits, synced with music and visuals.

• Editing & Compositing: Combined live-action references (if any) with full CGI layers, achieving smooth cinematic flow.

• Final Grading & Polish: Applied color grading to enhance futuristic tone, contrast, and visual clarity, delivering a campaign-ready high-end product ad.

Outcome

The final ad brought a simple engine to life in a futuristic sci-fi universe, transforming it into a superbike to showcase the oil’s performance. The concept, modeling, CGI, animation, and audio combined into a polished, campaign-ready ad.
